Social media is a wonderful thing. A little tag and all sorts happens. This is how I was introduced to the inspiring Naomi and her husband, and the charity they have built together.
This charity helps couples who are faced with the horrible situation of a terminal illness. Maybe the wife has cancer, maybe the husband has organ failure. Either way, when this situation arises, there is a desire to marry one another, to keep each other as in such a testing time.
With illness, comes financial difficutlies and paying for a wedding isn’t high on the priority list when you have a house to manage and transport costs to and from hospital appointments. Which is where the wonderful charity comes in. They have a list of suppliers that are happy to help at the drop of a hat. And The Blossom Parlour has become one of them.
Harry Potter was the theme, and we went with it! Endless foliage used, red, purple and white flowers in the form of tulips, ranunculus and anemones were everywhere, and navy ribbon adorned the bouquets and button holes. A runner of soft green ruscus smothered the top table, with small jars of blooms scattered along the length of it. It was all illuminated with The Little Wedding Helper’s beautiful candles. Candelabras, surrounded by moss, gave that feel of the Great Hall from Harry Potter’s school, along with quirky trinkets such as old books, skulls and potion bottles supplied and styled by The Little Wedding Helper.
It was an honour to work alongside the other suppliers and organisers for the event. We hope the couple had a wonderful day with their nearest and dearest.
